Shuck — Privacy Policy

The short version

Shuck collects nothing. It has no account system, no server, and no analytics. Your photos, and everything Shuck works out about them, stay on your phone.

What Shuck reads

With your permission, Shuck reads your photo library in order to do its job: counting what is there, estimating what it takes up, and finding screenshots, large videos, near-identical shots and duplicates.

All of that analysis runs on your device using Apple's own frameworks. Nothing is uploaded, and the app has no facility to upload anything.

What Shuck stores

Shuck keeps a local cache of what it has analysed so a second scan is faster. That cache lives in Shuck's own storage on your phone and is deleted when you delete the app.

What Shuck deletes

Only what you explicitly select. Nothing is ever pre-selected, and every deletion is confirmed by you and then again by iOS itself.

Deleted items go to Recently Deleted in Photos and remain recoverable there for 30 days. If iCloud Photos is enabled on your device, deleting an item removes it from every device signed into your Apple Account — that is how iCloud Photos works, and Shuck tells you so before you confirm.

What Shuck does not do

• No accounts, no sign-in, no email collection.
• No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or advertising SDKs.
• No third-party trackers.
• No network requests carrying your data. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple, and Apple does not share your payment details with us.

Purchases

Subscriptions and the lifetime unlock are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive aggregate sales reports from Apple. We never see your payment information.

Children

Shuck is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, regardless of age.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
